Ahead of Munich High End 2023 Soundsmith Introduces a Spate of New Products

including transimpedance phono stage and matching low internal impedance cartridge

Soundsmith this week announced a series of new products timed for introduction just before Munich High End 2023. After a long hiatus, the company will again participate with a sound booth in Hall 3, stand N06/P07 and show these newly developed products.

The picture at the top is of two TI (transimpedance phono preamp compatible) cartridges: the Hyperion MKII ES-TI and Sussurro MKII ES-TI. They are designed got be used with Soundsmith's new MCP-5 transimpedance phono preamplifier.

Soundsmith MCP-5Also introduced are two claimed to be "unbreakable" cartridges: IROX BLUE-ES and IROX ULTIMATE-ES.

IROX unbreakableIn another new and unusual development Soundsmith announced MOSTUBE ONE, a solid state plug in replacement for vacuum tubes 6550, KT66 through KT150, EL34, 6L6 and more said to feature "extreme stability, automatic matching, no adjustment required, 'tube' like sonics (2nd order products) with an automatic 30-50% amplifier power increase.

MOSTUBE ONE Also announced a new Hyperion iteration called the Hyperion MR "...featuring not only additionally reduced internal moving mass but now a “Micro-Ridge” stylus." Hand built by Soundsmith's Peter Lederman. Whether you wear it out or accidentally destroy it, a "re-tip" costs "$950, or less than 10% of the cartridge's MSRP.

Hyperion MRAnd finally there's a new strain gauge from Soundsmith that the company claims "now boasts an additional 21dB of reduced noise floor." That's not a typo.
