Celebrating The Miles Davis Centennial with "Time After Time" From " Live Around the World"

followed by Cyndi's version two ways

This TrackingAngle track Du Jour celebrates the Miles Davis Centennial with a track from the rare and out of print Miles album Live Around the World. The album consists of 1988-1989 performances recorded on tour and assembled here to give the feel of a single live performance.

The set begins with "In a Silent Way" recorded in New York on December 17th 1988 and ends with "Hannibal" from Miles Davis's last performance. The next to last track is Miles' version of Cyndi Lauper's classic "Time After Time" and that's what you'll hear here two ways: the original pressing mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound and then the version Mobile Fidelity released as part of its silver label series, not sourced from the master file or tape. See which you prefer.

Why this double record Miles Davis set released on Warner Brothers in Europe was never issued in America remains a mystery, especially since it was mastered by Scott Hull at Masterdisk.

Nice one! The japanese pressing sounds even a bit better than the EU one.
