This is great. Even though I’ve had problems with QRP pressed records lately, I will probably still buy some of these. The first batch is a no-brainer. Some Bo Diddley in the series would be fun too!

After my initial excitement, I’m dialing it back. That’s a disappointing first batch in some ways.

A Muddy compilation instead of a real album like Newport, which is hard to find? Nah. The most reissued James record in her catalog? Nah.

Yet another $40 price tag on stuff that has to be exchanged 40-percent of the time? Maybe, if more interesting title are chosen. I’m going to wait and see how good they are.

Hi Jeffrey, Calling The Best Of Muddy Waters just a compilation instead of a real album is a bit harsh. Robert Johnson's King Of The Delta Blues is also just a compilation and the Wolf title re-issued here is one as well, but these old 78 tracks had never appeared on microgroove before and all of them are classics. The fidelity on the original LP issues was superb. I hope these re-issues are close.

Would have been good to see some titles that have NOT been previously reissued (Speakers Corner, etc). Also are they 100% all-analogue? Yes, from the original tapes, but...

Chess still has one of my two all time favorite soul singers languishing in their vaults. Billy Stewart. I own many of his 45rpm singles from the mid 60's, his heyday with Chess. Take it from me, they are ALL terrific. Nobody sang like Billy, nobody. And his songs are so soulful and touching.. Check out Sitting in the Park and Strange Feeling, to name just two.

Jazz reissues from sibling label Argo would also be welcome - eg, James Moody, Another Bag.
