"His Band and the Street Choir" and "Word of Mouth" Next Up From Rhino's High Fidelity Series
limited to 5000 copies and
Rhino's next two releases in the "High Fidelity" series were announced yesterday. They are Van Morrison's "His Band and the Street Choir" and Jaco Pastorius's "Word of Mouth". Both are available today exclusively at Rhino.com and internationally at select WMG stores. Each release is limited to 5,000 individually numbered copies and priced at $39.98.
As with the previous two superb sounding reissues from The Cars and John Coltrane, Kevin Gray cut lacquers sourced directly from the original master tapes, and Optimal in Germany plated and pressed on 180g vinyl. The gatefold jackets include bonus material. The Van includes notes by the record's engineer Eliott Scheiner, while Ricky Shultz, who signed Jaco to Warner Bros. contributes to the Word of Mouth reissue
.In other news: I feel it necessary to report that more than a few readers who purchased one or both of the first two High Fidelity Releases, received them with damaged jackets due to shipping and less than adequate packaging. Obtaining replacement was not as easy as it should have been. Let's hope Rhino has improved the shipping containers because both of these are worthy reissue titles.
