Julian Lage Scenes From Above
Guitar virtuoso Julian Lage returns with his 5th Blue Note release, Scenes From Above, the follow-up to the GRAMMY-nominated Speak To Me, which was once again produced by Joe Henry.
The album features Lage in a new band with John Medeski on organ and piano, Jorge Roeder on bass, and Kenny Wollesen on drums for a set of new Lage originals.

Vibraphonist Joel Ross returns with his 5th Blue Note album Gospel Music featuring an expanded sextet line-up of his band Good Vibes with Josh Johnson on alto saxophone, Maria Grand on tenor saxophone, Jeremy Corren on piano, Kanoa Mendenhall on bass & Jeremy Dutton on drums.
The album is Ross' sonic interpretation of the biblical story, an exploration of his faith, and the fulfilment of his musical upbringing in the church, which delivers a message of hope and love.
Legendary in the genres of Jazz & Gospel music, the “Maestro” Ron Carter & the “Choirmaster” Ricky Dillard have collaborated on Sweet, Sweet Spirit, an uplifting album jointly released by Motown Gospel & Blue Note Records that brings the gospel world into the jazz club, and vice versa.
A tribute to Carter's late mother, the album is a collection of her favorite hymns given sublime new performances that fuse the powerful history of Gospel music with Carter’s eminent Jazz bass lines to create a unique hybrid never done before.
