Pacific Audio Fest 2023 Day One Coverage

Tracking Angle contributing writer Michael Johnson covers the show

Regrettably I had to skip this year's Pacific Audio Fest though I'd originally intended to go. I had too much work to do and I was too far behind. Fortunately contributing writer Michael "Poetry in Plastic" Johnson volunteered to shoot video coverage for us. This video is his day one coverage.

Johnson hasn't contributed much lately because he was busy with his doctorate, which he now has. It's in music, which is not surprising since he's an accomplished oboist and of course dedicated record collector. We look forward to more reviews in the future.

I'm sorry to miss the show and if dinner last year at Ultra-Audio's Ed DeVito's across the street neighbor this year was anything like that one, I'm really sorry I missed that too!

So thanks for doing this for Tracking Angle, Doctor Johnson. We look forward to the rest of your coverage. The lead photo is of Joel Durand's Tosca tonearm and the YouTube thumbnail photo is of the new KL AUDIO turntable and not so new tonearm, which I reviewed a few years ago for my previous endeavor.

Nice job Michael. The rooms appear to be much bigger with more acoustic treatment than I am used to at the CAF.

Agree, thanks Michael J, nice video! Recognizing this event is not Munich or Axpona, would be interesting to get an overall view on how it compares to other regional shows.
